Former inmates take to the streets

The Community of St. Dysmas, Maryland?s Lutheran congregation within prison walls, will sponsor its annual Walkathon from noon to 3 p.m. today. The walk begins at 2 p.m. after prayers, testimonies by former prisoners and a performance by the Praise Band.

Participants will walk from City Hall Plaza in Baltimore, passing the Divisions of Corrections Detention Center.

This year?s theme is ?You will not Walk Alone ? God is with you,? referring to the Walkathon?s emphasis on supporting former prison inmates re-entering society and joining rehabilitation support services. For more information, call Robert Mauck at 410-233-7897.
