Alexandria’s ALIVE food bank has received a donation of more than 500 non-perishables and food items form Alexandria’s Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Monique Edwards, who began a food collection project for the food bank more than two years ago, was joined by deputies Gregory Zedalis and George Wooden in delivering the contributions Thursday and celebrating how they would benefit area residents this holiday season.
Edwards said she is proud of the project’s progress. “It is always amazing how we can come together to help those in need,” she said.
