O’Malley joins Pinterest, posts photos of Obama

Ever-tech-savvy Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley is embracing the latest social media phenomenon, the photo-sharing website Pinterest, to start a contest among entreprenuers and small business owners.

O’Malley is asking participants to pitch their business ideas in 10 images using Pinterest. Winners will be judged by a panel of “business experts,” according to O’Malley’s office.

In announcing the contest, O’Malley touted his own Pinterest page, which includes categories of interest — what Pinterest calls “boards” — named “Goals to move Maryland forward,” “Pictures I took with my phone,” “My TV appearances,” and “Graphs moving in the right direction.”

Two of O’Malley’s four photos are of President Obama.

First- and second-place winners will win Apple products, including the MacBook Air and the iPad.
