Tom Brady to produce and appear in Super Bowl road trip film

Tom Brady is trading New England football fields for Hollywood studios.

The former NFL quarterback is set to produce and appear in a film about four friends taking a road trip to Super Bowl LI. His first move since he retired from football, the movie, 80 for Brady, will be produced through his global content company, 199 Productions, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Brady, who has been involved in the project from its inception, will play himself in the film, which centers on a road trip to the 2017 Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons in Houston.

Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Rita Moreno, and Sally Field will star in the comedy as the four best friends who take a road trip to see Brady. The fact that most of the leading women are in their 80s is the origin of the film’s name.

The game saw a historic come-from-behind victory from the Patriots, who were down 28-3 in the third quarter but went on to win in overtime.

Brady retired from the NFL earlier this month after 22 seasons in the league. Highlights of his career include winning seven Super Bowls, six of which were with New England and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has appeared in 10 Super Bowls altogether.
