For at least the second time this week, a Washington-area conveinence store has been struck by a “flash mob,” this time in D.C.
NBC 4 reports that at least 10 women with trash bags walked into the Shop Express store along Benning Road in Northeast Washington about 3:15 a.m.Thursday and swiped food, drinks and snacks.
Store employees told reporter Darcy Spencer that this was the third organized theft of the business in the past couple of weeks.
Last Saturday, a flash mob of about 30 people took over a 7-Eleven in Germantown. Law enforcement officials say they are looking at ways to combat this trend, which has turned violent in some cities around the country.
