The author of an anonymous op-ed published in the New York Times last year, who has only been identified as a senior official in the Trump administration acting as part of the “resistance,” is writing a tell-all book about the Trump presidency.
The book, titled A WARNING, is set to be published on Nov. 19, according to the Washington Post.
“Picking up from where those first words of warning left off, this explosive book offers a shocking, firsthand account of President Trump and his record,” a statement about the book’s release said.
The author, who will remain anonymous in the book, is being represented by Matt Latimer and Keith Urbahn of Javelin, the same literary agents who represented fired FBI Director James Comey and former White House aide Cliff Sims.
The New York Times published the column, titled “I am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration,” in September 2018, setting off intense speculation about its anonymous author, who described administration officials’s efforts to undermine the president. Dozens of top Trump officials denied writing the column.
“The dilemma — which [President Trump] does not fully grasp — is that many of the senior officials in his own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations. I would know. I am one of them,” the writer said.
“It may be cold comfort in this chaotic era, but Americans should know that there are adults in the room. We fully recognize what is happening. And we are trying to do what’s right even when Donald Trump won’t,” the piece continued.
Trump attacked the anonymous author, questioning whether the person had committed treason. He demanded the New York Times reveal the person’s identity “at once.”
Does the so-called “Senior Administration Official” really exist, or is it just the Failing New York Times with another phony source? If the GUTLESS anonymous person does indeed exist, the Times must, for National Security purposes, turn him/her over to government at once!

The author will discuss their reasons for remaining anonymous in the book and has not taken an advance. The author also plans to donate some of the book’s royalties.
“The author of A WARNING refused the chance at a seven-figure advance and intends to donate a substantial amount of any royalties to the White House Correspondents Association and other organizations that fight for a free press that seeks the truth,” Latimer told CNN.
The book “was not written by the author lightly, or for the purpose of financial enrichment. It has been written as an act of conscience and of duty,” he said.
The publisher, Twelve, and Javelin have verified the book’s author is the same person who wrote the New York Times column.
Latimer declined to say whether the author still worked in the Trump administration.
Sources familiar with the book said “elaborate precautions have been taken to protect the author’s identity.”
