Bill Clinton writing book about life after the White House

Former President Bill Clinton is writing a book about his life since leaving the White House in 2001.

Angel Urena, a spokesman for the former president, confirmed the forthcoming book to the Washington Examiner. It will be the fifth book written by Clinton during his post-presidential life.

“President Clinton has no interest in relitigating 2016 or speculating about 2020 or Trump,” someone with knowledge of the deal told the Washington Examiner.

It wasn’t clear how much Clinton will make from the book deal.

Clinton has been out of office for nearly 20 years, but appeared frequently on the campaign trail on behalf of his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, during her presidential run. He was sidelined during the 2018 midterm elections as the #MeToo movement gained prominence and his own behavior toward women was criticized.

Paul Bogaards, an executive vice president for the publisher, told the New York Times no timeline has been set for publication.

Clinton co-authored the fictional novel The President Is Missing with bestselling novelist James Patterson in 2018. Clinton’s 2001 autobiography My Life sold more than 3 million copies.
