Man shot by police officer at Dallas Love Field Airport after a domestic disturbance incident

Police shot a man at Dallas Love Field Airport outside baggage claim following a domestic disturbance between a woman and the father of her children.

According to witnesses, the man approached the officer with a large rock and he was shot. The officer told the man to “drop the rock and stop walking,” but he continued to approach the officer.

In an Instagram video posted by user Bryan Armstrong, nine shots can be heard. A woman is crying in the background and various people can be heard shouting “Get down!” and “Stay down, stay down!”

Prior to the altercation with the officer, police say the man threw rocks at the woman, the mother of his children.

Four shots struck the man, according to Randall Blakenbaker, assistant police chief of the Dallas Police Department’s Special Investigation Unit.

The man’s condition was not immediately given. He is being teated at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue officials.

The Transportation Security Administration told NBC 5 in Dallas that they are “aware of the incident,” but that it is “a local law enforcement matter.”

Flights into Love Field are not delayed, but departing flights are expected to be delayed as all passengers are being re-screened before being allowed aboard any aircraft.
