Former Alabama failed senatorial candidate Roy Moore said Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar should go back to “whence she came” after the Minnesota congresswoman attacked him and Alabama Republicans.
Over the weekend, the Alabama GOP passed a resolution calling for Omar to be expelled from Congress. She responded on Twitter Tuesday saying, “Sorry, @ALGOPHQ, but this is a representative democracy. I was elected with 78% of the vote by the people of Minnesota’s 5th District, not the Alabama Republican Party. If you want to clean up politics, maybe don’t nominate an accused child molester as your Senate candidate?”
The reference to an accused child molester is directed at Moore, who was accused by multiple women of sexual misconduct. Some of those women alleged that they were underage at the time of the attack. Moore ultimately lost his Senate bid to Democrat Doug Jones.

Moore fired back at Omar on Twitter Wednesday saying that he “fully support[s] the resolution” to force Omar out of office and that President Trump “was right” to direct Omar and other members of Congress to “go back to Somalia from whence she came.”
The failed Senate candidate is parroting comments the president made last month, in which he encouraged Omar and three other prominent progressive members of Congress to go back to where they came from if they are unhappy in the United States. Three of the four congresswomen the president targeted in this attack were born in the U.S.
