Trump 2020 senior campaign adviser Lara Trump hinted again at a potential Senate run in her home state of North Carolina.
“Before I let you go, are you saying you will never run for Senate in North Carolina? Is that what you’re saying? You will never run?” Fox News’s Jesse Watters asked President Trump’s daughter-in-law this weekend.
“Well, who said that? I never said ‘never.’ No. Look, I would love to represent my home state, and I think that it’s a really incredible thing to be in these polls,” she responded.
“There’s a big decision at hand, and I haven’t yet decided. I would love to do it, but we’ll see what happens.”
Last month, Trump confirmed speculation that she was considering a run to fill Republican Sen. Richard Burr’s seat when he retires in 2022.
“I was born North Carolina. It is my home. My team still lives there,” Trump said when asked if she would run for office in the state. “It’s something that I certainly have considered. I think it’s a little too soon to make an ultimate decision on that, but, you know, it would be an honor to represent the people of my home state.”
