Speaking out for the first time since antifa protesters attacked him on Saturday, journalist and Quillette editor Andy Ngo gave an interview on Fox News’ The Guy Benson Show on Monday.
“This was the anarchy of Portland,” Ngo said. “It’s considered a provocation for citizens to record activities that happen in public. So they viewed it as me provoking them because simply I walked around the demonstration with a camera. You know, this didn’t just happen in a major American city.”
Ngo was repeatedly kicked and had different items thrown at him by antifa members, who don’t like him because of his coverage of the group’s actions at different protests in Portland, Oregon. Some of his camera equipment was also stolen during the attack.

After he was kicked and hit with different objects, Ngo thought the worst was over.
“So what happened next is this so called ‘peaceful milkshake protest’ with people who came up with milkshakes, started throwing them at me, hurling it directly in my face so I couldn’t even see to walk out, and then more people charged in to punch me, to kick me. They were particularly targeting my head and my eye. I stumbled away. There was absolutely no police,” Ngo said.
Ngo tweeted that he had to go to a hospital in order to get his injuries checked out.

“I was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital where I received a CT scan, and it confirmed a brain hemorrhage. So I was kept under close monitoring at the hospital with a brain injury,” he recalled.
The Portland Police Bureau announced they had arrested three people in connection to the violent fights that broke out during the dueling rallies on Saturday.
