The Virginia governor will be in Fairfax on Tuesday to sign “Ashley’s Law,” which requires emergency responders driving through an intersection to flash emergency lights and sound a siren, or yield the right-of-way. The legislation is named in honor of Ashley McIntosh, a kindergarten teacher’s assistant who was killed in 2008 when a Fairfax County police officer rushed through a red light without a siren on and struck her car.
