Falling behind on mortage payments? Montgomery County is holding a free foreclosure workshop for homeowners who have lost their incomes due to a layoff or have had unexpected medical expenses tap out their savings. The workshop is first-come-first-serve and will be held Saturday in Gaithersburg.
Homeowners can sign up for one of HomeFree-USA’s two sessions. The first session will be from noon to 2 p.m. and the second from 2 to 4 p.m. Both will provide information about Maryland’s Emergency Mortgage Assistance program. Funding for the program is limited and applications should be submitted as soon as possible.
Montgomery County’s Department of Housing and Community Affairs, the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development and the City of Gaithersburg are co-host the workshop.
To register, call (301) 355-6140.
