ISAF Commander Gen. John Allen told the Al Jazeera news network that both NATO and Afghan forces have a lot of work to do before the U.S. withdraws from the region.
In the exclusive interview, which aired Wednesday, Allen said, “we’re building this airplane in-flight…there’s more work to be done.”
Allen, who was on the front lines with troops when the interview was being conducted, said despite the work, Afghan forces are doing better than they were several years ago.
