Google Chief Visits Rare Computer Lab in North Korea

Google chief Eric Schmidt, along with former Democratic presidential candidate Bill Richardson, visited a rare North Korean computer lab:

The pair is in North Korea for a “private” humanitarian mission, and was apparently shown a rare lab where access to Wikipedia and Google is available. Most computers in North Korea are connected only to a government-censored intranet.

The State Department has called the visit by Schmidt and Richardson “unhelpful.”
