The acting director of Office of Management and Budget, Russ Vought, said he and the agency’s head of national security, Michael Duffey, won’t be at at House impeachment inquiry session Democrats wanted them to appear at on Wednesday.
“I saw some Fake News over the weekend to correct. As the WH letter made clear two weeks ago, OMB officials – myself and Mike Duffey – will not be complying with deposition requests this week. #shamprocess,” Vought tweeted Monday.

House Democrats from three committees running the impeachment inquiry want to hear from Vought and Duffey about President Trump’s July 25 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and whether the Trump administration held back military aid in lieu of whether Ukranian officials investigated Trump political rivals.
Democrats wanted Duffey to answer questions behind closed doors on Capitol Hill Wednesday, because his signature was on the letters reapportioning aid to Ukraine.
Vought had already refused to comply with a House subpoena last week for documents involving Trump withholding military aid to Ukraine.
The office referenced the lack of an impeachment inquiry vote to begin an impeachment inquiry, as well as long-standing privileges protecting executive branch documents and the ambiguity of the subpoena issued by the Democrats.
