Hillary Clinton slammed Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy for saying that former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko “actively worked” for her when she was secretary of state.
Responding to the comments made by Kennedy on Sunday, Clinton asked, “Sen. Kennedy, why are you parroting Russian propaganda that U.S. intelligence officials tell us are designed to divide our country? Did you miss the briefing that day?”

Kennedy said during a contentious Sunday appearance on Meet the Press that he believed election interference in 2016 included both Russia and Ukraine. “I think it’s been well documented in the Financial Times and Politico and the Economist and the Washington Examiner, even on CBS, that the prime minister of Ukraine, the interior minister, the Ukrainian ambassador to the United States, the head of the Ukrainian anti-corruption league all meddled in the election on social media and otherwise,” he said. “They worked with a DNC operative against the president.”
He later specifically asserted that Poroshenko worked for Clinton during her tenure as secretary of state. “Russia was very aggressive, and they’re much more sophisticated, but the fact that Russia was so aggressive does not exclude the fact that President Poroshenko actively worked for Secretary Clinton,” he said.
