The mother of slain University of Virginia lacrosse player Yeardley Love has established a fund to build a turf field at Yeardley’s high school alma mater. Sharon Love established the memorial fund at Notre Dame Preparatory School in Towson, Md., where her daughter played lacrosse from 2002 to 2006. The school has raised about $30,000 — about 3 percent of the project’s estimated $1 million cost.
Yeardley Love was found beaten to death on May 3, three weeks before she was set to graduate from the University of Virginia.
