A Virginia woman pleaded guilty Friday to stealing more than $14 million from the bank that she managed and used some of the money to buy a lake house, luxury motor home and a helicopter.
Former Wachovia bank manager Linda Tribby, 42, faces 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to bank fraud in federal court in Alexandria.
Tribby took the money she told clients was put in a special account with tax-free interest. She forged statements to validate the scam, and even sent occasional “interest payments.”
Wachovia will reimburse clients for all money lost.
