A Brown County, Wisconsin, judge granted a temporary injunction in a lawsuit filed against Green Bay’s clerk regarding poll watchers.
The judge granted the injunction mere hours after the filing of the lawsuit, demanding that the county clerk stop violating state laws that allow poll watchers to observe vote counting. The lawsuit from the Republican National Committee is among 75 election integrity lawsuits filed around the midterm elections by the GOP, and many more are being filed by other conservative groups. RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel expressed her satisfaction over the judge’s move in a statement, obtained by Fox News.
POLL WORKERS BRACE FOR CONFLICT AS BOTH PARTIES PREPARE FOR POST-ELECTION LEGAL FIGHTS
“In less than 24 hours, the RNC successfully sued and won in Green Bay to ensure the city’s Democrat election officials follow the law on the books in Wisconsin. Bipartisan poll watching is a constitutional right in Wisconsin, and now the Green Bay Clerk will have to let them in the room to observe,” she said. “We are grateful the court granted a swift and decisive victory for Wisconsinites, and the RNC will continue to fight for election transparency across the country.”
The lawsuit alleges that the Green Bay County Clerk Celestine Jeffreys was blocking access to vote counting to the public.
