Marjory Stoneman Douglas survivors get a book deal

Parkland survivors and gun control advocates David Hogg and his sister, Lauren, have a book deal with Random House for a book set to be published in early June.

The book, “#NeverAgain,” takes an “in-depth look at the making of the #NeverAgain movement” in the aftermath of the shooting at the siblings’ school, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, that killed 17 people.

“This book is a manifesto for the movement begun that day, one that has already changed America—with voices of a new generation that are speaking truth to power, and are determined to succeed where their elders have failed,” the book’s description reads.

David Hogg announced on Twitter that the proceeds of the book would be donated back into the Parkland community.

Since the shooting, David Hogg has become one of the leading advocates among the Parkland survivors pushing for stricter gun laws, making dozens of national media appearances and taking part in organizing the “March for Our Lives” rally in Washington D.C.
