Joint Base San Antonio declared a lockdown due to an active shooter on Wednesday.
The base confirmed the news of the situation at about 1 p.m. local time via Twitter.

“Active Shooter warning for all JBSA-Lackland personnel. All base personnel implement LOCKDOWN procedures immediately and take cover,” the base wrote. “Real World LOCKDOWN, LOCKDOWN, LOCKDOWN.”
In an update, the base said there have been “no suspected injuries” and that the incident “is suspected to have happened outside Valley Hi Gate on JBSA-Lackland.”
Emergency responders are working with the police to clear the area. The statement added that authorities are searching for “the shooters,” though it’s unclear how many people opened fire.
The area is “ALL CLEAR,” the Joint Base San Antonio account announced two hours later, and there were no reports of injuries.
