Anthony Scaramucci resigns as adviser at Tufts University

Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci resigned as an adviser at Tufts University Tuesday after he threatened to sue the school’s student newspaper.

The school’s newspaper, The Tufts Daily, published multiple editorials critical of Scaramucci, an alumnus of the school, and called for his removal from his alma mater’s board of advisers for his work in the Trump White House.

Earlier this month, Scaramucci threatened a lawsuit against a student and the campus newspaper after the publication of the student’s opinion piece in which Scaramucci was labeled “irresponsible, inconsistent, an unethical opportunist.”

Scaramucci was supposed to speak at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, but the event would be postponed until “legal matters” were resolved.

After enduring much criticism after threatening the lawsuit, Scaramucci defended his actions.

“They’ve (Fletcher students) got to hold themselves in an adult world very shortly,” Scaramucci said.
