America at Women’s March: We, not Trump, represent America

Speaking to hundreds of thousands gathered in Washington, D.C., for the Women’s March on Saturday, actress America Ferrera said they, not President Trump, represent America.

Ferrera said a “platform of hate and division assumed power yesterday,” referring to President Trump’s inauguration on Friday.

“But the president is not America,” she continued. “His Cabinet is not America. Congress is not America. We are America. And we are here to stay.”

Hundreds of thousands of participants are expected to take the streets of Washington, D.C. Their goal is to send a message to the president that “women’s rights are human rights,” according to organizers.
