CNN, MSNBC combine to call Trump or his tweets ‘racist’ more than 1,000 times since Sunday

CNN and MSNBC have collectively called President Trump or his tweets about four freshmen progressive members of Congress “racist” over 1,000 times since Sunday morning.

In a three-tweet thread Sunday morning, the president advised that Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York , Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts go back to their countries of origin to help them if they are unhappy with the United States.

The cable news outlets have dedicated countless segments analyzing the president’s tweets, subsequent doubling downs, and additional comments he made at an event about the congresswomen.

Grabien, an online television clipping service, founder Tom Elliott noted that CNN has said the word “racist” 636 times since Sunday, and MSNBC has said it 471 times. Elliott also pointed out that those tallies do not include the number of times the word was used in chyrons.

The president has continued to push the debate on Tuesday arguing that the Republican Party should vote against the measure in the House to condemn his comments.
