Capitol’s Christmas tree arrives from Wyoming

The U.S. Capitol Christmas tree arrived at the west entrance of the building Monday. The 67-foot-tall Englemann spruce came from northwest Wyoming and will be decorated with ornaments made by Wyoming residents. The tree will be lit up starting Dec. 7 and continue on through the holiday season. Wyoming Sen. Michael Barrasso applied in 2007 to have his state provide the tree. It was cut in November and embarked on a nearly 5,000-mile journey with stops for 35 community celebrations. Kristen Byrne
