UB welcomes freshman class with cash

When the University of Baltimore sought inclusion in the University of Maryland system in the mid-1970s, it received approval only after agreeing to drop its freshman and sophomore undergraduate program.

Then, local community colleges were concerned about competition for students, and UB became an institution for upperclassmen and graduate students only.
