Prince William County Board of Supervisors Chairman Corey Stewart has announced that he will run for re-election this year.
Stewart is considered a favorite to run for the U.S. Senate now that Sen. Jim Webb will not seek re-election, and has said that he’s now more likely to enter the race. Yet he’s maintained that he hasn’t made a decision about a Senate campaign yet, and remains focused on the supervisors race this fall.
Surrounded by his fellow Republican supervisors in Prince William, Stewart pointed out his achievements as chairman, but also looked to the future.
“While other localities and states and countries continued to kick the can down the road, we took the bull by the horns,” Stewart said. “The result of reducing, reforming and refocusing government has set Prince William County apart from every other jurisdiction in the country.”
Stewart added, “You ain’t seen nothing yet.”
