News outlets and journalists are withdrawing support for a high-profile annual conference scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia after Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi went missing amid reports he may have been lured to the country and killed at the direction of the Saudi government.

CNBC correspondent Andrew Ross Sorkin tweeted Thursday that he would skip the Future Investment Initiative event, and Los Angeles Times publisher Patrick Soon-Shiong said he would do the same, according to CNBC.
