CHICAGO (AP) — The two Chicago politicians who would have faced off against Karen Lewis had she entered the mayoral race say they are wishing her a quick recovery.
The Chicago Teachers Union president announced Monday through a spokesman she won’t run for Chicago’s mayoral office. Lewis was seen as Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s most credible re-election challenger. She often tussled with the mayor during the 2012 public schools teachers’ strike.
