A woman was found dead in her car outside Paula Abdul’s L.A. home Tuesday evening — and the story just gets more bizarre from there. The body has been identified as a former contestant who was allegedly obsessed with the “American Idol” judge. Eerily, a picture of Paula dangled from the vehicle’s rearview mirror.
Paula Goodspeed, 30, appeared on the hit reality show’s fifth season in 2006, and, as TMZ reported, posted a picture of the “Straight Up” singer on her MySpace page with the caption “my secret crush.”
Neighbors told the paparazzi site that the deceased woman had been repeatedly spotted in recent weeks sitting in her car outside Abdul’s house.
Abdul told E! News on Wednesday she was “deeply shocked and saddened,” adding, “My heart and prayers go out to her family.”
Police told E! News the death appeared to be a suicide, and the body will be autopsied. We’ll keep you posted as more details develop.
Not cool
Jennifer Aniston has finally broken her silence on Angelina Jolie, blasting her with the worst insult a California girl can ever use: “uncool.”
The former “Friends” star tells Vogue she didn’t appreciate Angie openly gushing to the same magazine in 2005 about how she fell for Jen’s then-husband, Brad Pitt, on the set of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”
“I felt those details were a little inappropriate to discuss,” Jen says of her ex’s baby mama. “That stuff about how she couldn’t wait to get to work every day? That was really uncool.”
As for Brad, they’ve broken the ice: “We have exchanged a few very kind hellos and wishing-you-wells and sending you love and congratulations on your babies.”
And despite the tabloid’s continued portrayal of her as a lonely, unlucky-in-love soul desperate to meet Mr. Right, Jennifer insists,
“I actually feel I’ve been unbelievably lucky in love. I don’t feel like I’m supposed to be any further along or somewhere that I’m not. I’m right where I’m supposed to be.”
We can almost hear Jen’s pal Oprah exclaiming, “You go, girl!”
Jonas Brother-ly Love
Looks like Joe Jonas has caught the love bug again. (He really should have taken his shots this fall.) Soon after dumping country cutie Taylor Swift on the phone, the 19-year-old Jonas Brothers heartthrob has taken up with actress Camilla Belle.
“They met on the set” of the “Lovebug” video, in which Camilla stars, a source explains to People. “All the guys always had thought she was really pretty and that’s why they asked her to be in it.
“They are not public about it but they’ve just been hanging out with their friends and Joe’s brothers,” the source adds. “They are very private about it.”
And what attracted Joe to his new gal pal? “She’s a really good girl and it seems they share a lot of the same characteristics and morals,” the source says. Because, you know, the first thing teenage guys notice about a girl is her morals.
Bye-Bye, Blakey?
Is Amy Winehouse finally ready to dump husband Blake Fielder-Civil? The tempestuous twosome’s marriage is close to collapse, reports the U.K.’s Sun, after Blake didn’t even give his wife a heads up that he was getting out of prison.
“He never told her,” Amy’s dad, Mitch Winehouse, revealed. “She learned about it from reporters.”
Perhaps as a consequence, the “Rehab” singer reportedly refused to cough up the £30,000 bill for Blake’s court-mandated rehab program.
It seems Blake hasn’t given up hope, though: Defying the rules of his treatment program, he sneaked away to implore the paper’s reporter, “Tell Amy, ‘I love you and I wish I could be with you.’ I just can’t wait to get this over and done with and see Amy again.”
But Mitch notes, “Amy hasn’t seen him for ages, I don’t think she cares one bit.”
“Blake is a no-hoper. I want Amy to forget about him,” her protective papa declares. “The best thing that could possibly happen is for them to go their separate ways.”
We couldn’t agree more.
