Chris Christie had a message for the Democratic candidates who are towards the bottom in the polls while discussing the primary debates on The View.
Christie, 56, who ran for president unsuccessfully in 2016, praised the performance of California Sen. Kamala Harris during the second night of the debates, saying her message was that she is not in the race to be vice president.
“She wants to run for president, and she was assertive last night in that way. Now on the opposite side, you know, it’s time for Marianne Williamson — I’m sorry, Meghan, you know, time for Andrew Yang. It’s time for [Eric] Swalwell, [John] Hickenlooper go home now,” Christie said. “Quietly go home. It was nice. You can tell your mother and father you ran for president.”
Host Ana Navarro asked the former New Jersey governor if he would put former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke in the same category.
“Oh yeah. Listen, two nights ago, Beto looked like the guy who hadn’t done his homework and got called on in class. He was like, ‘Oh, God. Me? Can you ask the guy next to me?'” the former New Jersey said.
Christie explained a big reason why O’Rourke was able to get so much support and money was because people loathed Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.
By the time Christie dropped out of the 2016 election, he was polling at an average of 3%, according to RealClearPolitics.
