Arias With a Twist’ at Woolly Mammoth, through May 6 Here is a stage performance that’s a little different from what the typical D.C. audience might be use to. “Arias with a Twist,” featuring drag performer Joey Arias and the work of puppeteer Basil Twist, is a surreal trip. PetalFest Closing Concert at Woodrow Wilson Plaza, Friday

Believe it or not, the 2012 Cherry Blossom Festival is still going on. This year, in celebration of the centennial of the planting of the trees, the festival expanded to five weeks. The celebration comes to a close Friday with a free outdoor concert featuring the Family Stone (alas, without Sly) and others.

Redskins Draft Party at FedEx Field, Saturday

No matter how poorly they play, and how much success other area franchises enjoy, the Washington area is always Redskins territory first. Great Grapes Wine, Arts & Food Festival at Reston Town Center, Saturday and Sunday
