Mayor Sheila Dixon is expanding the Healthy Neighborhoods program into seven new Baltimore neighborhoods.
The program, which uses city funds to make investments in struggling neighborhoods, has already proved successful.
“The investments in these neighborhoods are paying significant dividends for the city,” Dixon said in a statement. “Now that we are including more neighborhoods in this initiative, Baltimore?s diverse communities will continue to grow for many years to come.”
The program currently operates in 10 city neighborhoods.
