HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut is moving clear toward creating a new authority that will oversee and promote the state’s three deep water ports in Bridgeport, New Haven and New London.

The House of Representatives on Tuesday voted 147-0 in favor of a bill that creates the quasi-public state Port Authority. The bill now needs Senate approval before the General Assembly adjourns at midnight on Wednesday.
