Radio host Rush Limbaugh is expected to return to his show soon.

Employees were told the conservative host should be back to work on Friday, according to Fox News, after he missed a few days for treatment.

Limbaugh, 69, announced he was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer this week before being invited by President Trump to attend the State of the Union on Tuesday. Limbaugh sat next to Melania Trump and was surprised to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, which the first lady tied around his neck as applause rang out through the chamber.

“I have to tell you something today that I wish I didn’t have to tell you,” Limbaugh said on his show on Monday. “And it’s a struggle for me because I had to inform my staff earlier today. … I have been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer.”

The controversial talk show host was derided by some critics on Twitter after sharing his cancer diagnosis.

Limbaugh, who told his audience that producing his talk show gave him great “satisfaction and happiness,” recently extended his contract with Premiere Networks after more than three decades hosting his show.
