Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) blasted his fellow Republicans who voted for the $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill, which he said was full of “woke garbage.”
On Twitter, Roy decried numerous parts of the bill and devoted a whole Twitter thread to listing 55 examples of some of the places the bill sent money to. That includes millions sent to LGBT youth centers and diversity initiatives.

The congressman also tweeted out the names of the 18 Republican senators who voted for the bill in an effort to shame them.

The $1.7 trillion omnibus would funnel BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars to woke pet projects from members like AOC & Hakeem Jeffries.
Then why are some Senate Republicans planning to vote for it?
Here are 55 terrible earmarks that NO REPUBLICAN should vote for??:

“There is a raft of earmarks spending on all manners of woke garbage, including a $105,000 for a mentoring program for LGBTQ youth,” Roy said during an appearance on the John Solomon Reports podcast.
“There’s funding for a community space for gender, expansive people of color and half a million dollars for Long Island gay and lesbian youth. I can go through a list. I’ve tweeted them all out. That’s what this bill, and they don’t care,” he added.
Among the many “pet projects” included in Roy’s list were “$1 million for Zora’s House, a ‘coworking and community space built by and for women and gender expansive people of color’ in Ohio,” “$663,250 for the New York Historical Society / American LGBTQ+ Museum Partnership Project,” which Roy says is an earmark of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), and “$3,617,500 for the Michelle Obama Trail in Georgia.”
Several Democrat representatives, including Ocasio-Cortez, fired back at Roy’s Twitter thread, defending their projects.
“Thank you for calling attention to my “pet project” of making New York State a global leader in combating climate change and creating tons of good, high-paying jobs for people in the process,” she said. “I’m proud of it! What’s your pet project? Being a hater for a living?”

Though she made note of one of her green energy initiatives, Ocasio-Cortez did not address the $663,250 for an LGBTQ+ museum project cited in the bill.
“Chip Roy is on a rampage against the LGBTQ community, identifying the $1.5M I secured for the LOFT Center in White Plains. I’m proud these funds will be used to purchase new space that will house LGBTQ seniors and provide vital services. I won’t stop fighting for my constituents,” Rep. Mondare Jones (D-NY) tweeted in response to Roy.

Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI) appeared to blame Roy for violence against the LGBT community.
“Hate-fueled threads like this are EXACTLY why the LGBTQ+ community is under threat and so dedicated to telling our story and providing safe spaces to all. Love will win out, Chip – be better,” Pocan wrote.
