Nervous shoppers stock up on toilet paper, water, and a coffin as #panicbuying trends

People concerned about the outbreak of coronavirus are clearing shelves at their local grocery stores, stocking up on frozen and canned food, filtered water, and toilet paper.

Numerous Twitter accounts have posted pictures of sparsely stocked stores after crowds of coronavirus preppers began hoarding supplies this week. At least one person was seen buying a cream-colored coffin.

Twitter users have complained about shortages of toilet paper, food, cold and flu medicine, and other supplies. Videos of fights breaking out between customers grabbing the last item of whatever is in stock have also surfaced.

A hospital worker put out a plea for donations of face masks and hand sanitizer. The hospital’s supplies are running low amid the coronavirus-inspired rush on suppliers.

One user shopping for baby wipes in Colorado found the store aisle all but empty, saying, “I legit got a whole baby who needs his ass wiped. Greedy ass people buy what you need and think of others.”

The outbreak of the coronavirus has sparked a rush of people buying spots in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. The graveyard’s co-founder Yogu Kanthiah said of the influx of orders for predeath plots, “Never seen anything like this before. It’s crazy,” according to TMZ.
