Trump says Palestinians’ hatred for Israel harming peace

President Trump called on Palestinians to “get rid of some of the hate” they have learned to harbor against Israel, echoing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s argument that deep-rooted prejudice has become an obstacle to achieving peace in the region.

“I think the Palestinians have to get rid of some of the hate they’re taught at a very young age,” Trump said Wednesday during a joint appearance with Netanyahu at the White House.

Trump also vowed to root out such prejudice in his own country, acknowledging that it exists in the U.S. as well.

“We are going to do everything in our power to stop long-simmering racism in our country,” Trump said.
