Elon Musk slams Truth Social, says it should be called ‘Trumpet’

Elon Musk slammed Truth Social’s name Wednesday afternoon.

Twitter’s new owner said Truth Social is a “terrible name” and suggested something different.

“Truth Social (terrible name) exists because Twitter censored free speech,” Musk tweeted, referencing former President Donald Trump, who started Truth Social.

Musk then suggested the social media platform be called “Trumpet.”

Former President Donald Trump’s Truth Social saw a sudden surge in interest on Tuesday after the app resolved some of its technical problems amid significant shifts in the social media industry.

Truth Social is currently outpacing Twitter and TikTok on the Apple Store.

Truth Social’s waitlist was cleared after the app moved to Rumble’s cloud service, a development that could lead to increased accessibility for the social media platform, Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes said on Friday.
