The Jan. 6 committee hearing announced the date and time of its second hearing of its June series, and it’s ditching prime time for the second round.
While the first Jan. 6 hearing will be a prime-time spectacle at 8 p.m. on Thursday, the committee announced Monday that the second will be at 10 a.m. next Monday morning during normal committee hours. While the first hearing will be broadcast live by major television networks, it’s unlikely the second will get the same treatment.

The hearings are a chance for the committee charged with investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, riot in the Capitol to present some of its findings to the public. More information about former President Donald Trump’s involvement and knowledge of the attack is expected to be revealed.

The committee, which is composed of seven Democrats and two Republicans, has collected a mountain of evidence through interviews with people close to Trump and acquiring phone records and other communications between top officials. Prominent former Trump advisers have been subpoenaed for refusing to cooperate with the committee’s requests and one, Steve Bannon, has an upcoming trial after being found guilty of contempt of Congress.
