Watch D.C. protests from comfort of your office

Curious about the expected action Thursday from protesters but can’t get away from the office? No need to worry. Thursday’s protesters are just as tech-savvy as they are anti-capitalist. Their website, October2011.org (maintained by a group related to the AFL-CIO) will have live streaming video of Freedom Plaza when things kick off this afternoon.

And those glued to Twitter will want to follow the #OccupyDC hashtag. And of course, yours truly will be tweeting away — follow me at @LizFarmerDC.

Just a clarification, as the Washington Examiner’s Wednesday story on the protests noted: The folks at McPherson Square are spinoffs of the Occupy Wall Street movement. The protestors at Freedom Plaza area separately organized group who obtained a permit several weeks ago to stage protests in the plaza through the weekend.

The two groups are likely join up at the end of the week and are definitely meshing Thursday as staged events are slated to begin around noon.
