Tiger Woods released from hospital following crash

Legendary golfer Tiger Woods was released from a Los Angeles medical facility and is recovering at his South Florida home following a car crash in late February.

Woods, 45, said he is “happy to report I am back home and continuing my recovery” in a statement to Golf Digest’s Daniel Rapaport.

“Thank you to the incredible surgeons, doctors, nurses and staff at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center,” Woods added on Tuesday. “You have all taken such great care of me and I cannot thank you enough. I will be recovering at home and working on getting stronger every day.”

Woods’s crash on Feb. 23 left him with a shattered ankle and two leg fractures. Doctors gave him a rod insert for stabilization in his leg.

The golfer was on his way to film a celebrity coaching session for GolfTV when his vehicle rolled over on a winding road in Ranchos Palos Verdes, California.

Police said after Woods was rushed to the hospital, he told authorities he did not remember driving or what caused the wreck.

Authorities said they found no evidence that Woods was impaired and no one else was injured in the crash.

It is not clear at this time when Woods will be fully recovered or when he will make his next public appearance.
