Female Bloods member arrested in Baltimore County park shooting

A known Bloods gang member is in custody after allegedly shooting a teenager in Baltimore County?s quiet Robert E. Lee Park.

Sirlilar Jewelle Stokes, 19, who is also known as “Juelz,” of the 4800 block of Briarclift Road in Southwest Baltimore, was held without bail Thursday on charges of first-degree attempted murder in the shooting of Ashley Davis, 18, a dancer on Baltimore?s well-known block of strip clubs.

Baltimore City police arrested Stokes outside the Two O?Clock Club, where Davis dances, in the 400 block of East Baltimore Street.

“This was not a random act. This was a targeted act,” said Baltimore County police spokesman Cpl. Mike Hill. “We can?t fill in a lot of puzzle pieces as to why it happened.”

A law enforcement source familiar with the case said police believe Davis also was affiliated with the Bloods gang.

Hill would not confirm that information. He said the shooting was not gang-related.

“Whether she?s a known gang member that?s not come to our attention, at least at this time,” he said.

Wednesday at 5:06 a.m., Davis walked up to the front entrance of the Royal Farms Store in the 6000 block of Falls Road in Towson. Davis was only wearing a shirt, was missing her shorts ? which were found in the park ? and had been shot in the head, police said.

“We know this girl was shot in the back of the head and was laid there to die,” Hill said.

Davis was in critical but stable condition at Sinai Hospital Thursday.

Davis told police that she walked a half-mile to the store from a small parking lot in Robert E. Lee Park, where she was shot earlier in the morning. Investigators found the area and physical evidence that corroborated her story. Detectives believe that after being shot, Davis began walking out of the park, and while walking, her shorts fell off, police said.

Hill said there is no indication of a sexual assault.

Stokes visits the club frequently and police believe the two women left the club together and drove to the park.

“We don?t know whether she left by threat. We don?t know if she left willingly,” he said.

Hill said the two women know each other.

“We know that they had a relationship.”
