Memo to Kiefer Sutherland: When you’re famous, it’s not such a smart move to get into bar fights. See, when you head-butt a successful fashion designer in front of Brooke Shields, chances are the press are going to get wind of it.
Here’s what went down: At around 2 a.m. Tuesday, Brooke was talking to pal Jack McCollough of couture house Proenza Schouler at the bar of a NYC club. Apparently, the “24” star got it into his head that Jack had bumped Brooke and her honor needed defending.
An argument ensued and, as Jack reportedly later told cops, Kiefer “pulled this stupid wrestling move like a teenager” and then head-butted him.
The actor “was drunk and obnoxious and wouldn’t back down or be logical,” said the designer, who suffered a cut on his nose. Police are investigating.
A source told the New York Daily News, “When Kiefer gets drunk he gets belligerent. If he was drunk, none of this surprises me. … When he’s drunk, people are afraid to be around him.”
If this is true, we hope Kiefer gets help soon. He’s too talented to sabotage his own good name that way.
Cameron: Move Out!
Cameron Diaz has reportedly split with her British model beau Paul Sculfor, who’s also an ex of Jennifer Aniston. The U.K.’s Grazia magazine claims that the “There’s Something About Mary” star asked her man candy to move out of her L.A. home, where they had been shacking up.
“They have fallen out of love,” a source explained. “They didn’t seem to find time for each other anymore. Paul is not too enamored by Los Angeles and wants to be where his friends are. Cameron thought she could settle in England but missed her old life too much. The romance just died.”
And Cameron appeared to be in full-on rebound mode at a recent visit to L.A. hot spot Chateau Marmont. “She looked hot and every guy in the place noticed,” a source relayed.
As for Paul, he was also spotted clubbing in L.A., allegedly scoping out a brunette: “He wasn’t acting like a guy with a girlfriend.”
What shocks us about this breakup is that it took so long.
Farrah’s Fight
Though her camp denies it, cancer patient Farrah Fawcett may be approaching the end of her life, according to a report in the Chicago Sun-Times. An alleged tip-off: the fact that her son, Redmond O’Neal, was briefly let out of jail so he could visit her.
The 24-year-old has battled drug addiction — and ensuing legal problems — and “a key part of Redmond’s visit was so he could swear to his mother that he would stick with a rehab and recovery program,’’ a source close to his parents confided.
“This is all being done so that Farrah can see Redmond while she still is able to talk to him and communicate with him properly,” explained another source. “Of course, we’re all praying for a miracle, but the likelihood of that happening is very slim.” Sad news.
Khloe’s Catch
Khloe Kardashian has a new man. The reality star is reportedly dating running back Derrick Ward of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“Derrick met Khloe through Kim, and the four of them go on double dates,” a source tells Star magazine. “The sisters both really like sports stars!” Indeed — Kim’s dating Reggie Bush of the New Orleans Saints.
After Khloe split with her last beau, basketball player Rashad McCants, says the source, “her mom and sisters would try to set her up with guys, but she’s been really picky. So now the family is just happy she found someone she likes!”
And he just happens to be a football star, eh? Wonder if Khloe is trying to keep up with Kim.
