Tom sees Suri for first time since split

Now that shooting has wrapped on Tom Cruise’s latest film, “Oblivion,” the megastar has raced to New York to see his 6-year-old daughter, Suri.

Since Katie Holmes filed for divorce from Tom less than three weeks ago, the “Mission: Impossible” star hasn’t seen his youngest child in person, although sources say they video chat often.

“He’s been dying to see her,” a source tells People magazine.

Now that the divorce settlement is finalized, Katie will have full custody of their daughter but Tom will have generous visitation rights.

Many sources claim a sticking point in their marriage was how to raise the young girl. And Katie didn’t even wait until the ink was dry on the divorce papers to enroll Suri in an all-girls Catholic school in Manhattan.

Sources close to the former couple tell People they will work together to make sure the hand-offs are as pleasant as possible. “They both know they are going to have to make decisions together regarding Suri for many, many years,” says the source. “And they know she loves both her parents.”

Katie involved in another fender-bender in New York

Speaking of Katie and Suri …

The duo were in a bit of a fender-bender in New York before Tom arrived for some daddy-daughter time.

While the ladies were being driven in Katie’s Mercedes by a chauffeur, a garbage truck hit the vehicle, E! News confirmed.

Both mom and daughter were unhurt in the incident, but it left some scrapes and dents on the car.

This is the second time in four days that Katie’s Mercedes has been hit. Late last week a paparazzi vehicle hit the car as she was coming home from FAO Schwarz.

Charlie says judging on ‘Idol’ is a genuine possibility

How’s this for a match made in a warlock’s dreams?

In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, Charlie Sheen told the radio host that he was interested in becoming a judge on “American Idol.” “It seems so out of the blue that it almost made perfect sense. I thought this could be a lot of fun,” he said. “Seriously … I’m genuinely interested. It’s so different, it could be radical.”

The man with Adonis DNA wouldn’t be the first person without a musical background to sit in the judge’s seat. Ellen DeGeneres was a judge for Season 9, but left after just one year.
