Nye: I might run again

U.S. Rep. Glenn Nye, D-Va., who lost his bid for re-election on Nov. 2, is “thinking broadly” about what he’s planning to do now – which could include another bid at elected office.

Nye tells the Virginian-Pilot that he’s “considering running again” – which has already sparked reaction from the Virginia political blogosphere.

A post at the conservative Bearing Drift blog had “Go ahead…make our day!” under the “Glenn Nye might run again” headline.

Meanwhile, the liberal Blue Virginia blog relates the news under the headline, “No, we will not ‘coalesce’ around Glenn Nye in 2012.”

Nye was faced with the difficult prospect of running away from much of President Barack Obama’s agenda while retaining enough of the Democratic base in the military-heavy 2nd Congressional District to win a second term. In the end, Nye lost to car dealer Scott Rigell by a 53-42 margin.
