Howard County Executive Ken Ulman will help unveil the county’s first hybrid bus 11 a.m. Monday in front of the George Howard Building, 3430 Courthouse Drive, Ellicott City.

The bus will create less pollution and includes an attached bike rack for cyclists and a low floor to allow better access for people who are elderly and disabled, county officials said.

The initiative will highlight Ulman’s heavy focus this term on protecting the environment and improving transportation.  Howard county leads the state in the number of hybrid vehicles being used for official business, cutting annual fuel costs by thousands of dollars.
