Jeb Bush to Skip CPAC for Business Trip

Jeb Bush will not be at next month’s Conservative Political Action Conference. Instead, he’ll be going on a “business trip.”

“[W]hile the political landscape may have changed, Bush’s public position on a potential presidential bid hasn’t, at least so far. He’s still refusing invitations to early-primary states for fear of setting off a media frenzy,” reports National Journal.

“He also turned down an invitation to speak next month at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington. The annual gathering of thousands of activists serves as a high-profile platform for potential presidential candidates—but Bush has a previously scheduled business trip.”

Jeb Bush did speak last year at the gathering outside Washington, D.C. But this, according to Matt Lewis, it’s about “scarcity.”

“We’ve reached a point where keeping a low profile is a wise PR strategy. (Always leave them wanting more.),” Lewis writes on Twitter.

Chris Christie and other possible 2016 Republicans will be attending the gathering.
