Ayotte announces $3.3 million third quarter

New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte announced Friday that her campaign raised $3.3 million during the third fundraising quarter as she gears up for the final month of her re-election campaign.

Heading into the final 30 days before Election Day, Ayotte has $4.5 million in cash on hand after the third quarter haul. She has raised $18 million in support of her race against Gov. Maggie Hassan. Hassan has not revealed her third quarter numbers ahead of the Oct. 15 deadline.

“I am honored and thankful for the tremendous outpouring of support from so many Granite Staters who are supporting our campaign,” Ayotte said in a statement. “Every day, I’m fighting to make it easier to create jobs and more opportunities for families and small businesses, address the heroin epidemic, and keep our country safe – and I’m running to keep standing up for the best interests of our state.”

Over the past week, the New Hampshire Republican has been on the defensive after she said in a debate Monday that Donald Trump was “absolutely” a role model. Soon after, she released a statement saying she “misspoke.”

She and Trump have had an up-and-down relationship throughout the campaign. Ayotte has said that while she plans vote for Trump in November, she has not endorsed his campaign and has not appeared with him on the trail.

Ayotte leads Hassan by a 2.3-point margin, taking 47 percent to Hassan’s 44.7 percent, according to the latest RealClearPolitics average.
